Common prune plums are among the most widely grown plum varieties. The oval, blue-purple fruits with a natural wax bloom have sweet, firm, easily separated flesh.
Harvested from September, they are supplied in crates or consumer punnets and keep well in cold storage for many weeks.
Stanley plums ripen slightly earlier than common prune plums. They are large, regular and sweet, which makes them ideal for fresh consumption and drying alike.
The variety is available from August to October, depending on the orchard and storage plan.
